Quiet Tides is an exploration of movement, material, and the quiet beauty found where contrasting surfaces meet. Layers of warm ivory, soft cream, muted beige, and earthy brown flow across the composition in broad organic forms, creating a surface that feels both natural and deeply tactile.
The artwork is built through generous applications of oil paint. Thick, sculptural areas rise noticeably from the canvas, forming irregular edges, broken ridges, roughened peaks, and softer recessed passages. The contrast between the heavily worked cream surface and the warmer brown field creates a sense of depth that changes as light moves across the painting.
